keepforgingamerica.jpg#asset:1780:responsiveBodyTransformAs the momentous 2020 year comes to a close, Ajax-CECO-Erie Press would like to express our thanks to all who have worked hard to remain available and supportive to those of us in the forging industry. There have been numerous challenges to say the least, but we have learned quite a bit as well. We have learned to appreciate the dedication of those who have endured despite obstacles that have been very daunting, the employees who remained focused on the task at hand in the midst of a scarce support team, and the ones who patiently awaited the call back to the force after months of the unknown future. Sadly, there have been forging industry teams that could not feasibly hold out who will truly be missed and the impact will be felt by all for quite some time.

Despite the hardships, Ajax-CECO-Erie Press has had a full year with numerous projects. We have been able to:

  • Rebuild of a 3500T Mechanical Forging Press
  • Rebuild of a 1925 400 ton (4H) Single High Frame Steam Hammer
  • Manufacture of four new Direct Drive Mechanical Presses (500T, two 1000T, 1600T)
  • Designed and installed Automation for a fully automated line on a Customer’s existing machine
  • Put new life into a 1936 Steam Drop Hammer with completely new upperworks
  • Rebuild of a #5 Draw-Straight-Cutoff and manufacture of a new #8
  • Manufacture began of two new 3” Forging Machines
  • Create and supply numerous Custom Stocking Programs for our Customers

The saying “that which does not kill us makes us stronger” will hopefully prove true as we show superior strength and endurance in the new year to come. We are looking forward to what the new year will bring and how the forging industry can continue to grow no matter what may arise. Keep forging America!
